PENDIDIKAN KEWARGANEGARAAN: (Kajian Konseptual, Perbandingan, dan Relevansinya sebagai Sarana Pendidikan Politik)

This study aims to examine Civic Education (PKn): A Conceptual, Comparative Study, and Its Relevance as a Means of Political Education. The research method used is library research, which involves analyzing various relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that PKn plays a strategic role in shaping citizens who are aware of their rights, obligations, and responsibilities toward the state and society. The primary objectives of PKn include strengthening democratic values, human rights, pluralism, tolerance, and social morality. Moreover, PKn functions as an instrument for building national character, enhancing political awareness, and preparing the younger generation to actively participate in democratic life. As a medium of political education, PKn provides a foundational understanding of citizenship rights, including civil, political, and social rights. This education aims to enhance political knowledge, political awareness, political attitude, political efficacy, and political participation among the public. Through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates political science, law, and moral philosophy, PKn contributes to the development of critical, rational, and responsible citizens. Additionally, PKn plays a crucial role in maintaining the Pancasila democratic system and preparing citizens to face global challenges such as disinformation, political polarization, and environmental crises. This study concludes that PKn not only serves as an instrument of political education but also as a vital element in maintaining democratic stability in Indonesia.
